Tour Overview

About This Tour

This loop through western Hunan starts and ends in Changsha. You travel by road to Fenghuang Ancient Town, with its stilt houses on the Tuojiang River, then visit Aizhai Bridge and Dehang Miao Village on the way to Zhangjiajie.

Two full days in Zhangjiajie cover the sandstone pillars of the National Forest Park (Yuanjiajie with the Bailong Elevator, Tianzi Mountain by cableway, the Shili Gallery mini-train and Golden Whip Stream), the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge and Baofeng Lake. On the way back you visit Tianmen Mountain. Meals include a Miao feast, a salamander banquet and a Tujia three-pot dinner, with nights in international-brand hotels such as Hampton by Hilton, or similar.

Group tour. You travel with other guests on a fixed departure — departures every Thursday in 2027. Prefer your own dates and a guide just for your party? The private version of this tour runs every day.

How the price works: CAD $1,313 per person sharing a twin or double room (land only — flights to Changsha and home from Changsha are not included). Gratuities for your guide and driver, CAD $140 per person (CAD $20 a day), are added at checkout; the estimate on this page already includes them. The single supplement is CAD $475.

Helpful Information

Travel Tips

Practical guidance to help you prepare for and get the most out of this trip.

How the price is built. Per person in Canadian dollars, two travellers sharing a twin or double room. Children pay the adult price and have their own bed. Gratuities of CAD $140 per person are added at checkout. The single supplement is CAD $475; a room cannot be shared with a stranger, so a solo traveller pays it.

Group tour. Departs every Thursday. You join other travellers; group size varies with the date. Group departures are not guaranteed with two travellers: a date runs once enough travellers have booked it. If your date does not run, we tell you in advance and you choose another date or get a full refund.

Walking and heights: Zhangjiajie, the Grand Canyon and Tianmen Mountain involve many steps, walkways and high viewpoints, and the Glass Bridge has a transparent floor. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.

Road travel: Days 2, 3 and 6 include long drives (Changsha – Fenghuang, Fenghuang – Zhangjiajie, Zhangjiajie – Changsha).

Huangxing Road: Day 6 includes a walk along Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street, a shopping street with many shops and snack stalls; there is no obligation to buy.

Dates and validity. Prices apply to departures in 2027. Dates over China’s public holidays (Spring Festival, May Day and National Day week) and major conferences are not sold at these prices — ask us for a quote. The hotels named are the usual ones; another hotel of the same standard may be used, and the order of visits can change for weather, train times or local conditions.

How your money is protected

Ali Travel Inc. is registered with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario as a travel retailer (#50025124) and wholesaler (#50026847) — both checkable on TICO’s public register. Ontario’s Travel Industry Compensation Fund may reimburse you if we, or an end supplier such as an airline, become insolvent and the travel is not provided.

The Fund has a per-person limit, exclusions and a claim deadline — TICO’s page sets out what it covers.

Who looks after your booking
