Chongqing, a high-speed train to Yichang and a four-night upstream Yangtze cruise through the Three Gorges, with the Three Gorges Dam and Shennong Stream.
This journey begins in Chongqing with a visit to Danzishi Old Street, then takes the high-speed train east to Yichang to board a Victoria Cruises ship for a four-night upstream voyage on the Yangtze River back to Chongqing.
On the cruise you visit the Three Gorges Dam site, take a shore excursion to Shennong Stream, sail through Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge, and stop at Fengdu for the Snow Jade Cave or the Xiao Guan Shan Folk Culture Park. Evenings bring the captain’s welcome and farewell events and on-board shows. You stay in a balcony cabin on the second deck, with the first night at the Four Points by Sheraton in Chongqing, or similar.

How the price works: CAD $1,325 per person sharing a twin or double room (land only — flights to Chongqing and home from Chongqing are not included). Gratuities for your guide and driver, CAD $120 per person (CAD $20 a day), are added at checkout; the estimate on this page already includes them. The single supplement is CAD $88.
You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest after your flight.
After breakfast you visit Danzishi Old Street, then take the high-speed train to Yichang (second-class seats).
From the Yichang Tourist Centre a free shuttle bus takes you to Maoping Port, where you board your ship and begin the Yangtze River Three Gorges cruise.
The day starts with early-bird coffee and tea and a buffet breakfast. In the morning there is an optional shore excursion to either the Tribe of the Three Gorges or the Hometown of Qu Yuan.
After lunch there is an optional sightseeing-ferry trip through the Three Gorges Project ship lift, and in the afternoon a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam site. In the evening you attend the Captain’s Welcome Reception, followed by dinner and a show of ethnic minority and dynasty costumes.
After early-bird coffee and breakfast, you join a morning shore excursion to Shennong Stream. After lunch the ship cruises through Wu Gorge and then Qutang Gorge.
Late afternoon brings an optional shore excursion to White Emperor City. Dinner is followed by a cabaret show on board.
After early-bird coffee and breakfast, the morning shore excursion is either the Snow Jade Cave at Fengdu or the Xiao Guan Shan Folk Culture Park. Fengdu Ghost City is offered as an optional excursion instead. Afternoon activities take place on board.
On some sailings an optional full-day excursion to the Wulong (Mt. Wuling) Great Rift Valley is also offered, with lunch on shore and a return to the ship at Fuling. In the evening you enjoy the Captain’s Farewell Dinner and settle your on-board account.
After a buffet breakfast and check-out, you disembark in Chongqing at around 9:00. You are then transferred to the airport or high-speed railway station for your onward journey.

How the price is built. Per person in Canadian dollars, two travellers sharing a twin or double room. Children pay the adult price and have their own bed. Gratuities of CAD $120 per person are added at checkout. The single supplement is CAD $88; a room cannot be shared with a stranger, so a solo traveller pays it.
Group tour. Departs daily. You join other travellers; group size varies with the date. Group departures are not guaranteed with two travellers: a date runs once enough travellers have booked it. If your date does not run, we tell you in advance and you choose another date or get a full refund.
Optional shore excursions: the additional cruise excursions are not included and are paid on board; prices are set by the cruise line.
Cruise schedule: sailing times, shore excursions and on-board activities can change due to weather, river conditions and navigation authority permissions. Day 6 starts early, with check-out around 7:30 and disembarkation around 9:00.
Solo travellers: the single supplement covers your hotel room but not a solo cruise cabin. If you are travelling alone, please ask us about the cruise cabin before booking.
Transfers: airport and station transfers on Days 1 and 6 are by vehicle with a driver; no guide accompanies these transfers.
Dates and validity. Prices apply to departures in 2027. Dates over China’s public holidays (Spring Festival, May Day and National Day week) and major conferences are not sold at these prices — ask us for a quote. The hotels named are the usual ones; another hotel of the same standard may be used, and the order of visits can change for weather, train times or local conditions.

Reserve online and pay the CAD $300 per-person deposit right away (unless a different amount is stated for this tour) — that secures your booking. We then confirm availability, usually within 24 hours, and update your booking status — if we cannot confirm your reservation, your deposit is refunded in full. The balance is due 30 days before departure. The deposit option applies to bookings made more than 60 days before departure — within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at booking.

Four Points by Sheraton Chongqing Yuzhong Peninsula opened in 2026 on Zhongshan 3rd Road in Yuzhong District, the old centre of Chongqing. It is rated 5 diamonds on Trip.com. The hotel is very new, so details are still limited.
Room types include queen and twin rooms, city-view rooms, family rooms and suites.
The Three Gorges Museum is about 830 m away. Lianglukou metro station is 680 m and Niujiaotuo station about 13 minutes on foot. Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street is 2.5 km.
