This five-day journey covers the karst country of northern Guangxi. From Guilin you head into the hills of Longsheng to ride a cable car above the Buni rice terraces, see Wujia Waterfall and visit the Red Yao village of Baimian, then spend the evening in Yangshuo at the open-air Impression Sanjie Liu show and on West Street.
Next day you see Fuli Bridge and Moon Hill before cruising the Xingping section of the Li River and walking through Xingping Ancient Town. Back in Guilin you watch the Shanshui song-and-dance show, visit Elephant Trunk Hill and Fubo Hill, and wander East-West Alley and Xiaoyao Tower. Sightseeing is by coach, with nights in Guilin and Yangshuo.

How the price works: CAD $863 per person sharing a twin or double room (land only — flights to Guilin and home from Guilin are not included). You arrive in Guilin by flight. Your guide meets you at the airport and you are transferred to your hotel to check in, rest and settle in after your journey.
You travel north by coach to Longsheng County and the Buni Terraces, layers of golden-green farmland stepping down the mountain slopes. A cable car takes you up the mountainside for panoramic views of the terraces, followed by a visit to Wujia Waterfall, where mountain streams tumble over rocky cliffs amid subtropical forest. You then visit Baimian Red Yao Village, a traditional settlement of the Red Yao people, where you may see local folk customs and everyday ethnic life.
Later you continue to Yangshuo for Impression Sanjie Liu, a large open-air performance staged on the Li River against a backdrop of karst peaks. After the show you stroll along Yangshuo’s West Street, lined with boutique shops, snack stalls and bars.
You start at Fuli Bridge, an old stone bridge set among karst scenery and a good spot for photos, then continue to Moon Hill, a limestone peak pierced by a natural crescent-shaped arch and one of Yangshuo’s best-known viewpoints.
Next you board a sightseeing cruise on the Xingping section of the Li River, the stretch of karst scenery that has inspired generations of Chinese painters. After disembarking you explore Xingping Ancient Town, a riverside town of old streets and traditional houses, before returning by coach to Guilin.
You begin with Shanshui, a Guilin song-and-dance show that presents the region’s landscapes and ethnic culture through music, dance and stage effects. You then visit Elephant Trunk Hill Park, Guilin’s best-known landmark, with a view of the hill from Zizhou Park, and continue to Fubo Hill Park, known for its rock formations, ancient stone carvings and riverside setting.
In the afternoon you stroll through East-West Alley, a historic quarter where traditional architecture mixes with modern shops, and stop at Xiaoyao Tower. The day ends at Wanda Food Plaza, where you can try a range of Guilin specialties and local snacks.
After breakfast you are transferred to the airport at the arranged time for your flight home.

How the price is built. Per person in Canadian dollars, two travellers sharing a twin or double room. Children pay the adult price and have their own bed. Gratuities of CAD $100 per person are added at checkout. The single supplement is CAD $313; a room cannot be shared with a stranger, so a solo traveller pays it.
Group tour. Departs every Sunday. You join other travellers; group size varies with the date. Group departures are not guaranteed with two travellers: a date runs once enough travellers have booked it. If your date does not run, we tell you in advance and you choose another date or get a full refund.
Long coach day: Day 2 combines the drive north to Longsheng with the onward drive to Yangshuo and an evening show, so it is a full day.
Shops and food streets: Yangshuo West Street (Day 2) and East-West Alley (Day 4) are lined with shops, and Day 4 ends at Wanda Food Plaza; food you buy there is not part of the included meals, and there is no obligation to buy.
Meals: no meals are included on arrival day.

Dates over China’s public holidays (Spring Festival, May Day and National Day week) and major conferences are not sold at these prices — ask us for a quote. Reserve online and pay the CAD $300 per-person deposit right away (unless a different amount is stated for this tour) — that secures your booking. We then confirm availability, usually within 24 hours, and update your booking status — if we cannot confirm your reservation, your deposit is refunded in full. The balance is due 30 days before departure. The deposit option applies to bookings made more than 60 days before departure — within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at booking.

The hotel stands on Fanghua Road in Diecai District, north of the city centre, with the Li River embankment on its east side and Diecai Wanda Plaza's shops and restaurants a 5-minute walk away; Guilin North Railway Station is under 6 minutes by car, the Two Rivers and Four Lakes area about 3.7 km and Elephant Trunk Hill 8 km. Guilin Liangjiang Airport is roughly 35 km (45 minutes) away, with paid transfers available.
Opened in 2024 as a 'smart' boutique-style hotel, its 240 rooms have voice-controlled lighting and curtains, rain showers and, in many rooms, a washing machine; a Chinese and Western buffet breakfast is served. The Green Lotus Hotel sits right on the Li River below Bilian Peak, a short walk from West Street, Yangshuo's pedestrian bar-and-shopping strip, and from the plaza where the Impression Sanjie Liu light show is staged. Guilin's Liangjiang airport is about 67 km away. Opened in 2008 and renovated in 2021, the low-rise buildings are set in gardens and modelled on the traditional dwellings of Guangxi's minority peoples; the 333 rooms have air conditioning, minibar and safe, and many face the river or the karst hills.
The Garden Western Restaurant serves a Chinese and Western buffet breakfast from 07:00 to 10:00 and lunch and dinner until 22:30; there is also a lobby bar and café. Guests can use the seasonal outdoor pool, children's pool, gym and, for a fee, the spa. Free private parking, EV charging, a kids' club and a tour desk are on site.
