Three days from Guiyang: the Huangguoshu waterfalls and Tianxingqiao, a Bouyi hand-grasped rice dinner, Qingyan Ancient Town and Huaxi Wetland Park.
This short trip shows the best of central Guizhou from a base in Guiyang. A full day at the Huangguoshu Scenic Area takes in Huangguoshu Waterfall, Potang Waterfall and the karst gorges of Tianxingqiao, with the shuttle bus and escalator included, and ends with a Bouyi hand-grasped rice dinner of five-colour glutinous rice served on bamboo trays.
On the final day you walk the stone streets of Qingyan Ancient Town, ride a battery car through Huaxi Wetland Park and visit Jiaxiu Tower before an afternoon transfer to the high-speed rail station. Both nights are at the Four Points by Sheraton Guiyang, Huaxi, or similar.
Group tour. You travel with other guests on a fixed departure — departures every Sunday in 2027. Prefer your own dates and a guide just for your party? The private version of this tour runs every day.
How the price works: CAD $700 per person sharing a twin or double room (land only — flights to Guiyang and home from Guiyang are not included). Gratuities for your guide and driver, CAD $60 per person (CAD $20 a day), are added at checkout; the estimate on this page already includes them. The single supplement is CAD $225.
You are met on arrival in Guiyang and transferred to your hotel to check in.
Today you visit the Huangguoshu Scenic Area: Huangguoshu Waterfall (with the scenic shuttle bus and one-way escalator), Potang Waterfall and the Tianxingqiao Scenic Area. You walk through karst gorges and see the waterfalls and limestone landforms up close.
Dinner is a Bouyi hand-grasped rice meal, a traditional dish of the local Bouyi people: five-colour glutinous rice dyed with natural plant colours, served with farm-style stir-fries and side dishes on bamboo winnowing trays. You eat it the Bouyi way, by hand.
You explore Qingyan Ancient Town and Huaxi Wetland Park (battery car included at both), and visit Jiaxiu Tower, Guiyang’s historic landmark. In the afternoon you are transferred to the high-speed rail station for your onward journey.

Practical guidance to help you prepare for and get the most out of this trip.
How the price is built. Per person in Canadian dollars, two travellers sharing a twin or double room. Children pay the adult price and have their own bed. Gratuities of CAD $60 per person are added at checkout. The single supplement is CAD $225; a room cannot be shared with a stranger, so a solo traveller pays it.
Group tour. Departs every Sunday. You join other travellers; group size varies with the date. Group departures are not guaranteed with two travellers: a date runs once enough travellers have booked it. If your date does not run, we tell you in advance and you choose another date or get a full refund.
Departure by train: the tour ends with an afternoon transfer to the high-speed rail station in Guiyang on Day 3, so plan an onward train (or a late connection) from there.
Waterfall day: the Huangguoshu area involves a good deal of walking on steps and wet paths; wear shoes with good grip.
