Begin your morning with a visit to Yuzhen Palace, a historic temple dedicated to Zhang Sanfeng. This serene site holds a distinguished place in the development of Wudang Taoism and martial arts. Its understated architecture—blue bricks and gray tiles—reflects a deep sense of history, while preserved relics honor the legacy of Zhang Sanfeng. You’ll also enjoy a Tai Chi wellness session led by a master, offering a first-hand experience of the balance between movement, breath, and mindfulness.
In the afternoon, head to Taiji Lake for a scenic cruise. Glide across the shimmering waters of the Danjiangkou Reservoir, taking in panoramic views of Tianzhu Peak’s Golden Summit and the surrounding “Seventy-two Peaks,” a hallmark of Wudang’s dramatic landscape.

Chengdu → Huanglong Scenic Area (or Alternative Route by Season)
After breakfast, depart from Chengdu and begin your journey toward the breathtaking Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area. Depending on the season, travel is arranged either by high-speed rail to Songpan or via scenic overland routes from Chengdu.
Upon arrival, take the cable car up the mountain followed by an eco-friendly electric shuttle to reach the famous Five-Colored Ponds, the highlight of Huanglong. Along the way, admire the area’s remarkable “Seven Wonders”—travertine pools, snow-capped peaks, dense forests, flowing streams, ancient temples, and rich biodiversity.
At the upper scenic area, explore key landmarks such as Huanglong Cave, Yuwang Temple, and Huanglong Ancient Temple. The cascading limestone terraces and vivid mineral pools create a surreal, almost otherworldly landscape.

Leshan Giant Buddha
The Leshan Giant Buddha, also known as the Lingyun Giant Buddha, is located on the rock face of Qixia Peak on Lingyun Mountain, at the confluence of the Minjiang, Qingyi, and Dadu Rivers in Leshan City. Designated a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, it features a seated Maitreya Buddha statue and is a masterpiece of Tang Dynasty cliff carving. The Leshan Giant Buddha was carved during the Tang Dynasty and completed over 90 years by three generations of craftsmen. Standing approximately 70 meters tall, it is a colossal stone statue of a seated Maitreya Buddha. Marvel at the majestic Leshan Giant Buddha and marvel at the ancients' ability to create such a magnificent statue without the aid of modern tools. The Leshan Giant Buddha has long been a sacred Buddhist site. Before the enormous statue, clasp your hands together and peacefully pray for peace and health for yourself, your family, and your friends.
Baoguo Temple (Emei Mt.)
Baoguo Temple, located not far from the main gate of Mount Emei, was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It serves as the entrance to the mountain and the starting point for most visitors to the Emeishan Scenic Area. The plaque "Baoguo Temple" above the temple gate was inscribed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It is also the center of Buddhist activities on the mountain. The main halls include the Maitreya Hall, the Main Hall, the Seven Buddha Hall, and the Samantabhadra Hall, each rising higher than the last. Upon entering the main gate, the first hall is the Maitreya Hall, housing a statue of Maitreya. The second hall is the Main Hall, housing a golden statue of Sakyamuni seated on a lotus. Further up the stone steps is the Seven Buddha Hall, where seven Buddhas are enshrined. Beneath the Seven Buddha Hall stands a fourteen-story copper Huayan Pagoda, built during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty. Enshrined within the pagoda are 4,700 small Buddha statues and the complete text of the Avatamsaka Sutra. The final hall is the Samantabhadra Hall, dedicated to Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Because Mount Emei is Samantabhadra's sanctuary, he is enshrined in the hall behind.
Jiuzhaigou / Mount Emei → Chengdu
Today’s journey highlights either the breathtaking landscapes of Jiuzhaigou or the spiritual heritage of Mount Emei, followed by a return to Chengdu.
Explore the world-famous Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, often called “China’s most beautiful place.” Travel by eco-friendly sightseeing bus through the valley’s iconic “Y-shaped route,” visiting highlights such as Long Lake, Five-Flower Lake, Mirror Lake, and Shuzheng Waterfall—each showcasing crystal-clear waters, vibrant colors, and alpine scenery.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is China's first national forest park (1982), famous for its more than 3,000 quartz sandstone peak forest wonders, and is listed as a World Natural Heritage Site. The park covers an area of 4,810 hectares, and the core landscape includes the "First Bridge in the World", the Golden Whip Creek Canyon and the prototype Qiankun Pillar of the "Avatar Suspended Mountain". Rare species such as Gongtong are preserved here, with a forest coverage rate of 98%, and macaques can be seen leaping among the cloudy peaks and forests. After the movie "Avatar" was filmed here, the fantasy terrain of "Pandora" attracted global attention. The unique "Zhangjiajie topography" has become a proper noun in geology and is a paradise for photographers and hikers.
Golden Whip Stream
Golden Whip Creek is the essence of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and is known as "one of the most beautiful canyons in the world". This 7.5-kilometer-long stream winds between strange peaks and cliffs, named after Golden Whip Rock, and is known for its crystal clear streams, pristine and quiet ecological environment and unique sandstone peak forest landscape. China's first art museum with natural sand and gravel as the creative medium, with a collection of more than 500 original sand and gravel paintings. The artist uses Zhangjiajie's unique quartz sandstone to freeze the landscape clouds and mist through layered pasting techniques, forming a unique "three-dimensional Chinese painting" effect. The treasure of the town hall, the "Wulingyuan Scenic Map", took 3 years to perfectly restore the three thousand strange peaks of Zhangjiajie with sand and gravel. There is an interactive experience area in the museum, where visitors can make mini sand and stone paintings by themselves.
