Departing Vancouver this morning, we'll drive along the scenic Fraser Valley Highway to Hope, the gold rush town featured in Sylvester Stallone's film "Rambo," a must-see for prospectors. We'll then travel to Kamloops, a semi-desert city renowned for its ginseng production. We'll visit a ginseng plantation and processing facility to learn about ginseng cultivation and its therapeutic benefits, and even have the opportunity to sample authentic ginseng tea. We'll then proceed to Separate Falls. While not as picturesque as Huangguoshu Falls or as majestic as Niagara Falls, it remains a natural wonder, shaped by over 400,000 years of glacial and volcanic activity. We'll spend the night in Valemount.

Volcanic rock deposits left behind centuries ago formed the cake-shaped gorge of Separhat Falls, making it one of the most dramatic waterfalls in Wells Gray National Park. Take a stroll through the cool hemlock and cedar forests and see the waterfall cascading through a keyhole in the rock face 80 meters above the Clearwater River. It's absolutely spectacular!
Depart from Valemount in the morning and enter Mount Robson Provincial Park. Jasper is a small town located in the northernmost Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada, with a population of approximately 3,000. The town was built in 1822 and has all the public facilities here, including restaurants, hotels, train stations, bus stations, cinemas, post offices, schools, hospitals, etc. There are many such towns in North America, each with its own history and charm, but because Jasper is located in Canada's famous national park, this town is particularly popular with tourists.
Maligne Lake is the second largest glacial lake in the world and the only lake in the Rocky Mountains where motor boats can sail. The scenery around the lake is magnificent, with dense pine forests, lovely grasslands and flowers all over the mountains. There are many hiking trails along the lake. The Fairy Island in Maligne Lake is the most beautiful scenery in the entire Jasper Park and often appears in various travel books and scenic postcards.

Due to its bright color, photos of the lake often appear in illustrated books.

Valemount Vacation Inn stands beside Highway 5 (Yellowhead South) at 6th Avenue and Karas Drive in Valemount, British Columbia, a village of about 1,000 people between Kamloops and Jasper: the Valemount Visitor Centre is a 3-minute walk, George Hicks Regional Park (salmon spawning in late summer) about 6 minutes on foot, the village museum and the Starratt Wildlife Sanctuary about 1.9 km, and Mount Robson Provincial Park 52 km north on the way to Jasper. The 70 air-conditioned suites have a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, heated floors, coffee maker, desk, cable TV and free Wi-Fi, and look out to the Rocky and Cariboo mountains.
The Vacation Inn Dine & Lounge restaurant is on the property; breakfast is not included in the room rate. Guests have free self-parking, barbecue grills and a garden, a business centre, express check-in and free newspapers in the lobby. Check-in is 3:00-11:00 pm and check-out 11:00 am; pets are not accepted.
Chateau Jasper sits on Geikie Street just beyond the town centre of Jasper, inside Jasper National Park, roughly a 10-minute walk from the shops and restaurants on Connaught Drive. The 119 rooms, studios and suites have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a safe, a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and kettle, and a bathtub or walk-in shower; suites add a king bed and sitting area.
Breakfast and dinner are served at the Silverwater Grill & Lounge on site. Elk + Avenue Hotel sits at 333 Banff Avenue, at the north end of downtown Banff, so the main street's shops and restaurants are a short walk away; the Banff Gondola is about 4 km off and Lake Louise 59 km. The former Banff International Hotel was rebuilt inside in 2016 and now has 162 air-conditioned rooms with a mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, coffee maker and free Wi-Fi, some with mountain views.
Farm & Fire, the hotel's restaurant and lounge, serves breakfast, dinner and drinks. El Toro, the in-house restaurant, serves breakfast and dinner with a Canadian menu influenced by Latin American and Spanish cooking.
