Three countries in nine days: Marina Bay and the Supertrees, the Petronas Sky Bridge, Malacca, the Grand Palace and two nights by the sea in Pattaya
Nine days through Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in one line, with the two flights between them — Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok — already in the price, each with a 20 kg checked bag. You arrive in Singapore on any Tuesday, Friday or Sunday and leave from Bangkok eight nights later, so you can fly into one city and home from the other.
Singapore gets a full day: the Civic District, Merlion Park, Thian Hock Keng temple, Chinatown and Little India, then Gardens by the Bay with its climate-controlled domes and Supertrees. Kuala Lumpur is three nights: Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, the River of Life and the Sky Bridge of the Petronas Twin Towers, a day trip to UNESCO-listed Malacca with a river cruise, and a free day for the optional Genting Highlands excursion. Thailand is four nights: the Grand Palace and Wat Arun in Bangkok, the Alcazar Show, a speedboat day on Coral Island, the all-wood Sanctuary of Truth, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, and an evening at ICONSIAM and the Asiatique riverfront night market.
Hotels are the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, three nights at the 5-star Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre, the 5-star Jasmine 59 in Bangkok and two nights at the seaside 5-star Garden Cliff Resort & Spa in Pattaya, or hotels of the same standard. Breakfast is included every morning, with four lunches and two dinners as listed. An English-speaking guide or driver looks after each country, gratuities are already in the price, and there are no compulsory shopping stops.
You are met on arrival at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free — the Marina Bay waterfront and the hawker centres are an easy first evening.
The morning is the colonial core of the city: the Civic District, past the Singapore Cricket Club, Parliament House and the National Gallery, then Merlion Park for the half-lion, half-fish statue facing Marina Bay Sands. Thian Hock Keng, the oldest Chinese temple in Singapore, is next, followed by the shophouses of Chinatown and the colours and spice shops of Little India.
The afternoon is Gardens by the Bay (ticket included): the climate-controlled conservatories and the Supertree Grove. In the early evening you are transferred to the airport for the flight to Kuala Lumpur (KUL), where your Malaysian guide meets you and takes you to the Pullman.
First to Batu Caves, the Hindu shrine in a limestone hill north of the city, with its giant golden Murugan statue and rainbow staircase. Back in town you see the Istana Negara (the royal palace, from outside) and the National Monument, then Merdeka Square, where independence was declared in 1957, and the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery.
After a Malaysian lunch, the River of Life waterfront and Masjid Jamek, the mosque at the meeting of the two rivers, and then the Petronas Twin Towers, with the Sky Bridge between the towers included. The day ends in Chinatown on Petaling Street and the mural-lined Kwai Chai Hong alley.
A day trip south to Malacca, the UNESCO-listed port that was Portuguese, Dutch and British in turn. You visit Sam Po Keng Temple, the red Dutch Stadthuys on Dutch Square, the hilltop ruins of St Paul's Church and Cheng Hoon Teng, the oldest functioning Chinese temple in Malaysia.
A Malacca River cruise (ticket included) takes you past the painted shophouses along the water, and the day ends with the street food and shops of Jonker Walk before the drive back to Kuala Lumpur.
A free day in Kuala Lumpur. The optional Genting Highlands day trip (USD $110 per person, paid locally) takes you up into the hills by round-trip cable car for the hill-top resort and the outlet mall.
In the evening you are transferred to the airport for the flight to Bangkok (BKK). Your Thai guide meets you on arrival and takes you to the Jasmine 59.
The Grand Palace, the former royal residence and the high point of Thai architecture and decoration, with Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, inside its walls. Then across the river to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, its five spires covered in coloured ceramic and glass.
In the afternoon you drive to Pattaya on the Gulf of Thailand. Dinner is included, followed by the Alcazar Show, the city's long-running costume and cabaret spectacular (ticket included).
A speedboat takes you out to Coral Island (Koh Larn) for a morning on the beach; water sports are on offer but not included. Lunch is included.
In the afternoon, the Sanctuary of Truth: a vast temple-like building on the shore made entirely of carved teak and rosewood, held together with wooden wedges and pegs rather than nails. Dinner is included.
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden first: manicured topiary, orchids, palms and the elephant show with a Thai cultural performance. After lunch you drive back to Bangkok.
The evening is on the Chao Phraya: ICONSIAM, the riverside luxury mall, and then Asiatique The Riverfront, the open-air night market of restaurants, craft stalls and the Asiatique Sky Ferris wheel. Dinner is free here.
Breakfast at the hotel, then the transfer to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) leaves at 9 am for your flight home.

The following are not covered by the tour price:
Practical guidance to help you prepare for and get the most out of this trip.
How the price is built. Per person in Canadian dollars, two travellers sharing a twin or double room. A service fee of CAD $180 per person is added at checkout. The single supplement is CAD $700. Gratuities for guides and drivers are already included. The two flights inside the tour are included; international flights to Singapore and home from Bangkok are not — ask us for a fare from your city.
When it runs. The tour starts on your arrival day in Singapore, which can be any Tuesday, Friday or Sunday. Each booking must be for two adults or more, and the departure is guaranteed once we confirm your booking. If you are travelling alone, contact us and we will check whether you can join a departure.
Children. A child aged 2 to 12 sharing the existing bedding with the accompanying adults pays the child rate of CAD $2,899; a child who needs their own bed pays the adult price.
Meals. Breakfast is included every morning after arrival; lunch is included on Days 3, 4, 7 and 8 and dinner on Days 6 and 7. The other meals are left free, and in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok that is deliberate — the hawker centres and night markets are part of the trip.
Optional extras and shopping. Day 5 in Kuala Lumpur is free; the Genting Highlands day trip (USD $110 per person, with the round-trip cable car, the hill-top resort and the outlet mall) is optional, booked and paid locally. On Coral Island the water sports are not included. ICONSIAM and Asiatique on Day 8 are shopping and dining stops where you are free to browse; there are no compulsory shopping stops on this tour, and a ride on the Asiatique Sky Ferris wheel is not among the included tickets.
Hotels. The Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences, Jasmine 59 in Bangkok and the Garden Cliff Resort & Spa in Pattaya are the standard hotels; the flyer describes the Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Pattaya hotels as 5-star. Where one is unavailable a hotel of the same standard is substituted. Check-in is after 2 pm and check-out before 10 am; early check-in or late check-out costs extra. Extra nights before or after the tour are subject to availability — tell us when you book.
Last day. The transfer to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport leaves the hotel at 9 am on Day 9, so book a flight home that departs from late morning onward, or add a night in Bangkok. The order of sightseeing may change to fit the group's flight schedules; the sights themselves stay the same. Travel insurance is your responsibility.
